Welcome to English Martyrs Church York, the largest of the city's Catholic churches

The English Martyrs Church York, dedicated to the Martyrs of England, is the largest of the city’s Catholic churches. Opened in 1932, the Church’s boundaries encompass the Bar Convent, the oldest in England, and a major site of Catholic heritage.

The parish also takes in the York Railway station, Micklegate and the communities along the Tadcaster and Boroughbridge roads. The villages of Copmanthorpe, Upper Poppleton, Nether Poppleton and Bishopthorpe are also part of the parish.
