Teen Liturgy is part of our celebration of mass at 10.30 every Sunday morning. Young people from Year 6 and above are invited to meet in the upper room in the church hall and read and discuss the readings of the day. Discussions are always challenging and interesting, not least because of the quality of questions and insight of the young people themselves.
Sessions are prepared by a diverse and enthusiastic team whose primary qualification is a commitment to engaging seriously with scripture, and sharing that adventure with the young people of our parish. We have a range of resources to hand, and meet occasionally to discuss tactics and approaches. If you are a young person who is curious but not necessarily committed to this approach to the Liturgy of the Word, feel free to give us a try. Just follow everyone else out when Fr. Dominique Minskip announces Children's Liturgy during Sunday mass. You can find us in the upstairs room in the Church Hall. It is a great way to meet other young people who come to mass on Sundays, and is a good start to getting involved in other activities such as the Pentecost Vigil that we celebrated in May, and we are interested in working with young people who would like to lead sessions themselves.
So, if you've ever felt you wanted to talk back during the sermon, perhaps now is the time to get out of the pew and into Teen Liturgy.
